Limakport in Iskenderun

At Limakport in Iskenderun, Conductix-Wampfler carried out the electrification of 10 container stacking cranes in 2013. The rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGs) were equipped with the Drive-In L solution. Power is supplied by ten blocks of system "0813" at 1000 A, totaling some 2.5 km of conductor rail. As general contractor, Conductix-Wampfler was responsible for all work necessary – from delivery and installation of steel frame and conductor rail systems to the final commissioning. The engagement in Limakport also included the delivery of the Trenchguard line protection system for STS container cranes. The main power supply lines unwound from motorized cable reels into a channel aren't just protected from damage due to port vehicles crossing the crane's path, but also from mechanical stress and environmental conditions, spillage or other materials and objects that could fall into the channel. 550 meters of the TG 400 Trenchguard system were delivered to Turkey to protect the main power supply lines.

Ports of the Yildirim Group

With four projects currently underway, Conductix-Wampfler has a constant presence in the ports of the Yildirim Group in Gemlik (Bursa) and Dilovasi (Kocaeli). For optimum line protection of the main power supply feed to STS container cranes in the Gemlik Gübre port, the company delivered a total of 750 meters of the TG 400 TrenchGuard system in 2013. 470 meters of this long-trusted protection system have also been installed in Yilport. The Yildirim Group has also entrusted Conductix-Wampfler with the upgrade of all diesel-powered RTG cranes to future-ready electrical drives. As general contractor and thus responsible for delivery, installation, and commissioning, the company equipped five blocks in Gemlik Gübre with the Drive-In P system. Efficient power supply is provided by about 820 meters of conductor rail from the 0813 line, at a rated current of 1000 A. All five blocks were completed in 2014. Another 426 meters of conductor rail were put into production in 2014 for another two blocks in the Gemport container terminal. The order also included the dismantling of an existing system from a competitor.

Evyapport in Kocaeli

An RTG electrification project is also being managed by Conductix-Wampfler at the Evyapport Terminal Extension in Kocaeli. For the Drive-In P solution implemented there, about 1,250 meters of 1000 A Series 0813 conductor rail were already installed in 2014. The order as a whole provides for the power supply of a total of five blocks. After the successful completion of the electrification of two blocks, three additional blocks will be completed this year.

Marport in Amabrli/Istanbul

Conductix-Wampfler has been acting as general contractor on behalf of Marport since 2014 and is responsible for the electrification of container stacking cranes in the new terminal in Amabrli in Istanbul. A total length of 1,142 meters of 1000 A conductor rail has been laid. Five blocks are equipped with the plug-in system. It was possible to implement two blocks in 2014, and another three will be implemented in 2015. Conductix-Wampfler is responsible for delivery of the steel framework, the plug-in trolleys, and conductor rail, as well as for installation and commissioning.
