Modular Slip Rings

Universal Slip Ring (USR) series and its Enclosed version (E-USR) are the most standardized and fully industrialized Slip Rings of the Conductix-Wampfler Slip Ring Portfolio. These Series Slip Rings are produced in various models, in order to fully meet the needs of each user and application.

Despite the high level of standardization and use of components available on stock, many combinations are possible, guaranteeing to our customers a wide range of different poles for every kind of use.

They are designed to be combined in a single product, rings for high and low power, digital and analog signals and data communication. USR are also widely used inside many Conductix-Wampfler cable reels and other bigger Slip Rings like CGR, CUSTOMIZED or SPECIAL ones, while the Enclosed version (E-USR) is applied in many markets like General Industry, Construction Machines, Amusement Rides...

Are USR/ E-USR applicable in harsh environment and heavy duty conditions?

Yes, even if cost-optimized and standardized, USR / E-USR slip rings have been designed to face the requirement of the most demanding applications and environments. In particular, E-USR has an enclosure made in engineered plastic (homopolymer polypropylene with fiber glass). Shaft, hub, flanges, rods... are available not only in aluminum but even in Stainless Steel AISI316L, perfect for aggressive environments like offshore or in water treatment plants.

Can power, signals and data be mixed on USR / E-USR?

Of course, like most of Conductix-Wampfler series, you can compose the slip ring based on your needs, mixing any kind of power, signal and data. Even Fluidic Rotary Joints and Fiber Optic Rotary Joints are available as accessories.

Do I need to separately purchase a flange and an anti-rotation fork to install in E-USR?

No, you can install E-USR using the universal hub on the rings' side and there are several possibilities for applying an anti-rotation mechanism, as described in the E-USR Manual. Anti-rotation fork and several flanges (in aluminum and stainless steel AISI316L) are available to make you chose your preferred installation method and to guarantee a high level of compatibility with other Slip Rings Series from Conductix-Wampfler and competitors.

Are USR / E-USR pre-wired or can I put in my own cables?

To provide high flexibility and high level of standardization, keeping short delivery time, every USR / E-USR is provided with a terminal board on rings and with the possibility to install the cables directly on brush holders for the brushes' side. This has the additional benefit of fast cable replacement in case of external damage during the installation, or during the working life of your machine. In any case, on request, Conductix-Wampler can provide an additional service, suppling the cables that you require and at the desired length, already wired on the rings' terminal board and brush holders.
